Coconut Grove Real Estate
Old Florida vibe overlooking the bay. Lush landscapes and historic homes.
Among the countless live oaks, banyan trees, and array of tropical plants, Coconut Grove real estate places residents in the heart of Florida’s greenery. These homes in the Grove, both old and new, present a multitude of rich architectural character. The two oldest residences in the county, both of which were constructed in the 1800s, establish the norm for the village’s building materials like coral, oolite limestone, Dade-County pine and cypress. Tropical modernism and custom contemporary homes are also common, as these styles followed throughout the 20th century. In addition to single-family homes, which range from internationally acclaimed mansions to cozy cottages, there are high-rise condominiums, including the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, and gated communities with multi-family units overlooking the water.
Bordered by US-1, Rickenbacker Causeway, Biscayne Bay and Coral Gables, the Grove lies 15 minutes from downtown and South Miami, while South Beach is a bit farther northeast. The Grove’s residents find everything they need, including prestigious private schools like Carrollton and Ransom Everglades, an organic farmer’s market on Saturdays, Fresh Market grocery store, CocoWalk open-air shopping mall, yacht clubs, and over a dozen thoroughly maintained interior and waterfront parks with jogging paths, playgrounds, and picnic areas. Other natural beauty can be enjoyed at the Barnacle Historic State Park and the internationally renowned Kampong botanical garden. All of these one-of-a-kind amenities are topped off by Vizcaya, a grandiose 1920’s estate with manicured grounds and historic sites.
The village BID has commenced improvements for the thriving mix of independent boutiques and restaurants at CocoWalk, which reflects the Grove’s track record of constant reinvention throughout the decades.
